It was the smallest present under the tree. It would turn out to be the biggest gift in little Jackson’s young life.

It was wrapped in plain brown paper with a string of red yarn tied in a bow. On the bottom, written in green crayon, it read: “Do not open this until I get there. Happy Christmas, Uncle Tee.”

Uncle Tee was Jackson’s favorite. He was a magic man of music and he would be sitting down at the family table for Christmas dinner.

Lying on the floor with his head in his hand, Jackson looked up at the clock on the wall and wondered how he could move its hands and make it go from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the blink of an eye.
