Conclusion
When it was revealed during the summer of 2013 that a fourth Robertson brother would be joining the cast of Duck Dynasty, one of the most popular reality shows on cable television, many fans of the show had to do a double-take. After all, even some of the most die-hard loyal viewers of the show had no inkling that there was another Robertson in the mix, let alone a clean-cut pastor who formed a striking visual contrast with his hairier male family members. Pastor Alan Robertson and his wife Lisa made their debut on the show to much fanfare and with a lot of questions. First and foremost, what about the beard?
On the topic of beards, he told reporters when he was confronted with the issue in an August interview with Religious News Service. "I'll let it grow out but shave it once hunting season is over. It's now part of their persona," Alan continued. "I don't want to get stuck with that look".
While Alan Robertson's existence came as something of a surprise to Duck Dynasty's viewers, the eldest son of Phil and Kay Robertson has been well-known to those in the family's hometown of West Monroe, Louisiana for decades, having served as the dedicated minister at the now-famous family-base of White's Ferry Road Church of Christ for over twenty years. In fact, his decision to leave his position there and join the show was merely a matter of reaching a larger audience.
"What I do for our church- you see, it's a pretty good-sized church- impacts a lot of people, but because of my association with the show, I'll get to minister to a lot more people," he told the New York Post in June 2013, when it was announced that he was joining the cast.
Alan Robertson was born in 1965 to a newly-married, teenaged pair of high school students. Phil and Miss Kay Robertson were high-school sweethearts who had started dating when she was only fourteen years old.
