In memory of my mother Madge Lynne Barnett

January 27, 1954 ~ May 13, 2016

R.I.P. Angel

I first and foremost would like to thank the Most High, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who without, none of this would be possible. He gave me the vision, and I was just His vessel, obedient and willing. I would like to also thank my amazing husband Christopher Lawson who encouraged me those late nights to keep writing and always pushes me to follow my dreams. He has truly been a light in my life and I am blessed and thankful. Thanks to my beautiful daughters Mariyah and Nylah for always encouraging me and giving me hope and my wonderful son though marriage, Jordan. Everything I do is for my family and I am so proud that they too are using their gifts to be a light in the world. Thank you to the Book Baby team for bringing this vision to life through their great book cover, publishing and editing services. You can visit them @www.bookbaby.com. I would also like to acknowledge my sister Dianne Diaz who is always a Beacon of Light in my life and a great writer that I look up to. Special acknowledgments to my brother Christopher, his beautiful wife and my brother in-law for their love and support. Thank you to my rock, my father Delano Barnett for mentoring me my entire life, helping me become the woman I am today. I am thankful to my organization All Women S.H.I.N.E. and my team and all who have supported the vision. All Women S.H.I.N.E. is a non-profit organization that’s geared towards helping women heal internally so that they can shine in their personal lives and careers. I will be using this book to help motivate women through this organization. You can find us on Facebook @allwomenshine and @www.allwomenshine.org for more details on this amazing organization. I would like to also acknowledge IMPWR Visuals and Events, the company I co-own with my husband that is responsible for the photo found in the About the Author section of this book. Please visit our site @www.impwrinc.com or follow us on Facebook @Impwrvisuals for more information. Special acknowledgement also to my church Life Revolution Church where I’ve been leading and serving for the past five years and where my faith has tremendously grown. I would also like to thank all my family and friends who have supported me over the years including my father and mother in-law and their spouses, my aunt and all those who I have not mentioned. It’s because of all your love and support that this is all possible. Last, but not least, my wonderful mother in Heaven, Madge Barnett, the most amazing woman I have ever met. I could never imagine to be such an inspiration as she was, but she is the reason I am the woman I am today.

About the Author

It came as a surprise to me, sitting one night on my bed and connecting with God, that God gave me the vision to write this short novel – Red Lipstick Revelations. This journey has been a different but fulfilling one for me as it is my first novel. God has given me different platforms to motivate and encourage others, and now my first book. This book is a great read, exciting and inspiring, one you will be thankful to have experienced. I pray that this book causes a shift in the lives of all who read it towards purpose, faith and living the life God intended for us.

Red Lipstick Revelations is a story of a young woman who transitioned from Jamaica to Atlanta, and the many experiences she encounters in Atlanta. Ultimately, she finds God and starts living the life meant for her. The story, characters, and incidents portrayed in this book are fictitious. They were created intentionally, so that every person could in some way relate. Ruth is a young woman who knew Christ but fell victim to the temptations of the enemy. Although she was already equipped with the Holy Spirit who lives inside all of us, she wasn’t able to fully experience God and all His goodness because of her life choices, “Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living,” Psalm 27:13. She thought what she needed was in the material and fleshly things but God was all she needed. She eventually realizes and turns back to her first love, Jesus, “May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.” 2 Thessalonians 3:5. My prayer is that those who touch this book read it fully and are fully transformed by it. I pray it reaches women and men all over and is a tool that will bring lives back to Christ. As a woman of faith, I strongly believe that this story will be blessing to others. God bless you all!
